The band is tight and Jerry doesn't miss a beat. Seems like he's surfing with his guitar lines.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

I think Jerry's working ideas out in new places in the fretboard during the "China" solo, and Brent is contributing some interesting colors.

Nice slow shuffle, and Jerry's playing is quite melodic. But he brings the heat at the end (with some help from Keith).

Some nice playing from Jerry in the solos and transition.

Ah, you beat me to it! Second above, and I've honestly never heard the "Miracle" material done so well.

Shreddy bouncy triplet Jerry!
Playin' In The Band
May 11, 1972
Rotterdam Civic Hall

I honestly haven't heard the rest of the '72 box yet (working through parts of '90, '84, '78-9, '73), but I have this show in pretty frequent rotation every time I have like 4 full hours I can listen to something. The whole show is fantastic, and this PITB opener is just unreal. Slow Jerry peak mid-way through, superb band interplay. Although I'm a bourbon man myself.

Thanks man. I posted that a while ago, and I think this is the best version of this tune from the 04-77–06-77 run of shows.

Yeah, this is a superior version. During most of the May versions of this tune, I kept wanting them to stretch out a little, and they do here. The result is worth hearing!
