The wonderful slow super stoney jam reminds me of that Miami '74 Jam > Ship of Fools

Wonderful version. I also love the "Stephen > Iko > NFA" in set 2.

Nice version. I thought the energy really sloughed off in the second set, but that does contribute to a nice version here.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Nov. 6, 1977
Broome County Arena

The beginning of this “Scarlet” is *rough* (tuning, tempo, vocals are "pitchy"). They seem to try to make up for this in the first “Scarlet” solo, but it just sounds cluttered to my ears. Things get patient and quiet after the last verse, although Bobby still doesn’t really he’s rather out of tune. The transition is nice, and maybe I’m in a bad mood, but the first interesting thing I heard was almost 9:30 in (the overlapping ascending scales). The groove in “Fire” is tight, but the version oscillates between Jerry blowing a good chunk of the verses and some phenomenal playing. All in all, unlike any '77 version I've heard, and not in a good way.

One of the highlights of a great night.
