Awesome. Very elongated solo and some nice verse flourishes

Not going to dethrone Veneta by any means but still a worthwhile spacey, concise, chilled out rendition. Some nice melodic chord jamming from Garcia.

Was surprised to see this wasn't already here. Phenomenal solo from Jerry and some beautiful cascading keys courtesy of Keith

Very subdued but staccato sounding solos if that makes any sense, pretty standardly great 78 version here

Really liked this version despite my initial skepticism; the only thing I really just can't get behind is Brent's keys. The guy was a phenomenal player but man I can't help but feel a more organic keyboard tone would've done a lot of good for dark star. Not a huge downside though as the key tones aren't really grating or unlistenable, just not a great fit IMO. Jerry's tone however is incredible here, and the range of sounds he's able to produce is quite frankly breathtaking. Really liked this one and will definitely revisit in the future, just picture perfect later-era theme jamming.

It bothers me so much that the cut in the first solo isn't patched on the official release. Honestly kind of ruins it for me as I'm so used to listening to it with the patch, and the solo reaches an arguable peak during the cut. It perplexes me as to why they neglected to patch it. Paid like $40 for the DP cd a few months ago and was beyond disappointed to hear the blatant and obvious cut. Kind of feel like I got duped, but my fault for not researching I guess. Of all shows to have a cut it had to be this one huh

Liking this one a lot today. I've reached the point where the sound of '77/'78 eyes is like a drug. The silky, airy, floating hyper-picking from Jer is like taking a ride on a magic opium carpet. Can never get enough of it.

Dig your commentary on this one ds67. I agree this one's definitely got a "loose" feeling to it. Almost like they're leaving the confines of sugarmags and going into something entirely new that only existed on this particular night. On a sidenote, I don't think I've ever seen a comment from Donnie where he wasn't hating. Does that guy actually like the Grateful Dead? I swear to god I've never seen him leave a positive comment. Blah blah blah '77 is overrated. Loosen up man.

It might be a sin that I listened to this one before 5/9 but woooooh boy this is seriously incredible. That outro jam alone cannot be overstated. Just incredible GD magic. 5/9 will be expedited from here
