This Sugaree has energy and is pretty solid. Electrifying, high noted/pitch solo that Jerry does a tremendously well. Sound quality is AUD, but the AUD isn't a deal breaker on this one. Enjoy this' electrifying opener Sugaree'. Good energy this show as well.

This Terrapin Station with joy gets my up vote. It was the band's first performance of Terrapin Station and they completely nailed it and the recordings are top notch. Robert Hunter said himself he thought this was the best Terrapin Station Jerry performed. I can see why. It's truly clean powerful and consistent and delivers everywhere it needs too. It's a great model for Terrapin Stations and the fact it was performed on this first live performance and first song of the show is remarkable and stands out in Gratefuldead history. Now, my FAVORITE Terrapin Station and the one I truly find to be the most 'magical' 'psychedelia' and enchanting and pulling and really taking you on a ride to Terrapin - - 12-31-78. Jerry's vocals are from another universe, maybe from Terrapin, and the whole band is completely locked in on the same page. I mean everyone. The performance is truly inspiring to anyone listening and it really pulls you in and takes you through Robert Hunter and Jerry's ride and you really get close to the "heart" of Terrapin Station through 12-31-78. - Being said, I do believe it's rightful for 2-26-77 to be at #1 and I fully understand why. I think anyone should fully immerse themselves with this the studio version than this Terrapin Station and than maybe 7/4/89, and when ready; really enjoy 12-31-78 for all it's beauty. But on this performance (2-26-77) it's a must listen and is performed 'near perfect' and really hits on everything Terrapin Station is and is absolutely inspiring as well.

This is a masterpiece throughout. Not a single second wasted and has everything you need and could desire in a Dark Star. yes, it deserves the hype it has and is probably a rightful #1. My favorite dark star is 9-19-70 for deep space with a gorgeous jam erupting from the star. But this veneta star is just the complete package... It's a similar situation with Cornell's Morning Dew - Their are defiantly some stars/morning dews out their that match the intensity of these very known #1 slot holders and are equally deserving of attention and plays and can match delivery, but it's just extremely hard to truly sincerely say their is a better one..- Again, it's such a subjective statement to say it's "the best or #1" and typically I like to shy away from those statements, because it dis encourages listening to the other gold that is really out their accessible. to us all! But yeah friends, this checks all the boxes and does it 'near perfect' and deliverers some extra bonuses... A sincere worthy #1 slot holder and hype holder <3
