How can you not smile? This was Beautiful, Philly! Thank you Phil! Some awesome passionate focused work from Jerry on this one. The keys from Brent almost sound Black Muddy River like, which is really unique and adds so much emotion. Bobby really holds down a great steady rhythm. strongly as well. Gorgeous performance right here, needs WAAY more attention ! up vote!
Box of Rain
July 7, 1989
JFK Stadium
Phil's tempo and energy here is unmatched. I love the early Box of rains for it's groovy jump bouncy tempo and gorgeous early 70 sounds.. But this box of rain just feels so complete and fully matured into it's full product. The 3-24-73 is so groovy and Phil's young voice is awesome and it really has life... But I feel like this one carry's that life and groove, but solidifies it all in a complete package. Awesome!
