Brown Eyed Women
Nov. 17, 1972
Century II Convention Hall

Super-fast and super-funky rendition, from one of the best 1972 shows.

Johnny B. Goode
July 16, 1972
Dillon Stadium

Hard rockin' version with the Allmans sitting in. Heavy bass riffs courtesy of Brother B.O.
4
Ramble On Rose
Nov. 24, 1972
Dallas Memorial Auditorium

Hard rocking version from a tight 2nd set.
5
Big River
Nov. 19, 1972
Hofheinz Pavilion

A rip-roaring rendition, with Jerry ripping licks, Keith banging keys, and Billy machine-gunning the backbeat.

The Other One
Nov. 14, 1972
Oklahoma City Music Hall

Nice jazziness coming out of Truckin'. Phil hints at a few solo themes he would develop later on, and Jerry shreds before the verse reprise.

El Paso
Nov. 19, 1972
Hofheinz Pavilion

Just before this song, Bobby dedicates both Hofheinz shows to the memory of Allman Bros. bassist Berry Oakley, who was killed on Nov. 11. It's a poignant moment that seems to bring out a fine performance.
Brokedown Palace
Nov. 17, 1972
Century II Convention Hall

This whole show is solid, probably one of the best from 1972, but Truckin->O1->Brokedown is in another dimension.
Sing Me Back Home
Nov. 14, 1972
Oklahoma City Music Hall

Yeah, this combo is really well done. The 14th flies under the radar compared to other dates from Nov. '72, but it's a great show.
Wharf Rat
March 26, 1972
Academy of Music

Just when you think the jam from this show couldn't get any more massive, they finish it off with a beautiful Wharf Rat. Top-notch stuff.
The Other One
March 26, 1972
Academy of Music

Great jams throughout this O1 and the preceding Truckin'. The whole sequence might just be the highlight of the Academy run for me.
