Portland EXPLODES- One of my favorite Bertha’s, the “Test Me Test Me” line just explodes. I remember looking up and thinking wow, this is going to be

No Garcia Vocals, but he shreds the ending, one of the best late 70's versions.

Great nomination, I didn’t know this version, just got Dave’s Pick’s Vol 8, and if you are listening to any other source, stop. Buy it, borrow it, download it, just get it, it sounds amazing. A very nice pace to this version and Jerry’s vocal are still sharp, unlike most of the other 80’s versions. Powerful “Goodbye Mama and Papa”, Give it a listen and get DP Vol 8.

Sure glad we have video of this standout version. If you have seen it or listened to it, this version would be rated higher.

Good version for sure, I like the 3 (top ten) stand-out 78’ versions better, 04-24_Normal, IL., 07-08_Red Rock and 12-31_Winterland. Can’t argue with Jerry’s’ vocal enthusiasm, good choice.

All of the Jerry ballads, slower tunes from this two night run at Red Rocks are outstanding. Hopefully these two nights gets an official release someday, if we only had a video of Jerry belting out this version. Edit-Now that this has been released July 78' Box Set it should have more votes, the version before this one, 7/3/78 St. Paul totally rocks as well.

The drummers are a beast in the version, Jerry’s vocal are spot on. One of the better first sets of any year. Recently released on Dave’ Picks Vol 7, which sold 12,000 copies, so this version needs a few more votes.
