Aiko Aiko
July 1, 1984
Pine Knob Music Theater

Aiko Aiko was a great opener to an average show. Jerry had some good leads and great vocals to finish.

"So Glad You Made It"- Considered it a personal invitation. The first version has to be on the list. We had heard that Phil was going to break out a

This was the first time I saw Satisfaction, we heard they played it at the NYE show but it was still a surprise and the Garden audience ate it up. It

Cold Rain and Snow
Dec. 26, 1979
Oakland Auditorium

Love this version, Phil is a beast after the vocal finale. Weir also contributes some nice rhythm, (better than the slide in ’78 IMHO), give it a listen. Is this the best one out there?
Cold Rain and Snow
May 11, 1978
Springfield Civic Center Arena

This is my personal favorite from shows that I saw, and it was the first Cold Rain as well. Always a treat to open a show, and this version laid the ground work for an amazing night in Springfield. Just listen how Jerry growls / moans / oohhs through the coda. Makes me smile every time I hear it.
Here Comes Sunshine
Oct. 25, 1973
Dane County Coliseum

Very sweet version indeed, not a long as some of the monster versions to come later in the fall, would have loved to see the evolution of the Wake of the Flood songs live as they progressed through an amazing year for the Dead. Great time to be a Wisconsin Dead Head, two great shows in an 8-month period. This version needs more votes, give it a listen.

Love Spring ’77, Love this version, very smooth indeed, To Terrapin, Hartford ’77 released in 2009. This was my second show, with one of the best openers Bertha> Good Lovin’> Sugaree, all Heady Versions.

GDConnoisseur’s video link is not valid anymore, Voodoonola2 has the entire show, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlEb2CPPs-E. Good version, but I’ll take any 77-78 Brown Eyed over this one.
