Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad
July 31, 1971
Yale Bowl, Yale University

A great vesion from ’71 with a unique Darkness Darkness transition jam after the “We bid you Goodnight” coda. Very deep, spiritual interplay.

Madison Square Garden

A Major Break-Out, you must hear the crown reaction, none of the '83 versions really stand out, but this needs to be heard.

Springfield Civic Center Arena

Great version from a great show, I love how Jerry growls the “Last fair deal…” line great stuff, foreshadowing the Werewolves to come.

Aiko Aiko

Field House - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

The first time I saw Aiko Aiko, great singing by Garcia, clearly having a blast. RPI is an underrated show, with many, many highlights.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Nov. 2, 1977
Field House - Seneca College

This one is now released on the bonus disk on Dave’s Picks Vol 12, we almost have the entire show. If a shame cause if should be heard as it should, as complete show, as this is a fine show. With a very fine Scarlet>Fire, probably ranked where is should be in top twenty for 77’, but then I imagine all Scarlet>Fire’s from 77’ have been nominated.
Cold Rain and Snow
Nov. 4, 1977
Cotterell Gym - Colgate University

1st version of 77’, Jerry slams into it right out of Samson, no drums closing, no final vocal refrain, right into Cold Rain. Great show, Great version. Just released on Dave’ Pick’s Vol 12 and should have some more votes. This is the first night of one of the best weekend runs in the Dead’s history, Check all out “Colgate-Rochester-Binghamton” should have been released as a box set, throw in Toronto as well.
Candyman
March 24, 1988
Omni Coliseum

I was at this show as well, one of my definitive “Late Inning” moments, Jerry had everyone’s attention.
Sing Me Back Home
Aug. 27, 1972
Old Renaissance Faire Grounds

My favorite version, from one of the best shows. Will now need to give 5/26/72 a listen.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
