A solid workout with a well-rendered buildup and a yelping SSDD

Amazed at how these early versions are so well established, moving along confidently yet dreamily; then some unique post-lyric explorations.

<< Good one. This one being no exception. Also has that moment where you sensed another go-round; see the 7/24/87 video for a fun comparison.

Spread the buttery icing on the cake smooth.
Dark Star
July 18, 1972
Rossevelt Stadium

Rides the pre-verse, always-becoming magic while taking every improvisational detour to smell the flowers and shake hands with the butterflies. Phil’s high-speed rubbery runs propel Jerry’s squealing ascension in the final drive, which is expertly punctuated by a pause, leaving the intro to shine full. A strong swig on the marrow of life. By the time we get to the full tiger screeching everything seems perfectly normal.
Truckin'
July 18, 1972
Rossevelt Stadium

Positively charged -- with both the drive of a great Truckin' and the hints of Dark Star peeking from the shadows.
