Builds to a phenomenal peak. Weir and Jerry are on it.

Big River

Are you kidding? This is one of the best Big Rivers I've heard. Phil, Jerry, what else can I say? Crank it up

Fantastic jam. Everyone looks alive. Bobby and Brent drive it.

Samson and Delilah

Recreation Hall - Penn State University

One of the best I've ever heard. Jerry is on fire, Bobby sings great, and drummers are right there.

Jerry has to be feeling it for this tune to work and he's on fire here

Feel Like A Stranger
May 6, 1980
Rec Hall, Penn State U

Love it when they get lost at the end of a tune and aren't sure what to do. The bottom falls out and weird things happen. Also, is this the only Stranger -> He's Gone?
Lazy Lightnin' -> Supplication
May 6, 1980
Rec Hall, Penn State U

Great version with one of the best outro jams to Supplication I've heard - Phil expanding on Jerry's ideas
Alabama Getaway

Rec Hall, Penn State U

Deceptively hot version. You don't realize how great it is till it's over. Jerry burns it up, Bobby and Phil also sound great. Nice aud recording
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
May 4, 1980
Baltimore Civic Center

Everyone shows up for this fantastic version. Love that fluttery thing Mickey plays in the jam. Great mood throughout
The Music Never Stopped

Hampton Coliseum

Jerry is not in good form at this show, as was often the case in this era. But the weird thing that he does when he's having trouble playing is that he goes for it in an outrageous, almost angry way. It's awesome.
