Sure it's only a tease that's aborted for El Paso, but it's Veneta, so it has to be the best!

Melodic and intense, by far my favorite space melts into Stella. Very underrated show.

West L.A. Fadeaway
July 19, 1989
Alpine Valley Music Theatre

Yup, this is definitely the gold standard for this song. In fact the whole Victim>West LA>Desolation>Deal run is my favorite first set run of the Brent era and my #1 Brent-era versions of every one of those songs.
Mexicali Blues

Alpine Valley Music Theatre

Haters gonna hate. LOL, I've never seen anyone get so worked up about Mexicali Blues.
Blow Away
July 7, 1989
JFK Stadium

The first extended rap was in the spring (Milwaukee maybe?), but this one was the best.
Dark Star

Rotterdam Civic Hall

I'm not going to go full Donnie on this one, but 47 mins is a bit much. When these songs get over 30 or 35 mins, there gets to be a lot of unfocused filler in it. I tend to prefer more like the 4/14 Copenhagen version that clocks in at 27 mins and does a better job of staying focused as they run through the various themes. Regardless, all the E72 material is terrific, and this is no exception.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
April 9, 1983
Hampton Coliseum

Yeah, by "OK", I mean it's fine. I don't disagree with you about China-Rider specifically. It's just not a listenable show for me if there is one highlight among a night full of train wrecks.
