Sure it's only a tease that's aborted for El Paso, but it's Veneta, so it has to be the best!

High energy. Part of a very underrated show.

Melodic and intense, by far my favorite space melts into Stella. Very underrated show.

Bird Song
Oct. 18, 1989
The Spectrum

This whole show was a disappointment. The previous show on the 16th was epic and the earthquake was on the 17th, and I think they really weren't into it for this one. The highlight of the whole show was Little Red Rooster where Brent tried his best to inject a little energy into the show, but no one else was interested. Even Shakedown was disjointed and listless. Luckily, they got back in the game on the next night with a ripping show on the 19th where you could hear the energy level 1000x better from the first note of Bucket.
Lost Sailor -> Saint of Circumstance

Augusta Civic Center

This is great, as is this whole show, but Barcelona '81 is the best Sailor>Saint by a lot, so, yeah, I would have a problem calling this the best.

Good Lovin'

Cafe au Go-Go

I did this morning. The Seven jam is as outrageous as advertised, but the sound quality of the audience recording is barely listenable, unfortunately.
Sugar Magnolia
Oct. 19, 1981
Sports Palace

This is probably the #1 underrated Dead show I know of. This Sugar Mag is my favorite version of this song, as well as the Scarlet > Fire, and the stunning 20+ min Sailor > Saint that is one of the great hidden gems of the whole band's history. The matrix copy on the archive sounds fantastic, so make sure you get that copy.
