Ace has been conducting an improv symposium this whole night. Basically a proto-Wolf Bros show

Rolfe AUD tape, someone's son is screaming for this tune through a good part of Set 1. Are you happy now?

Drums -> Space
Nov. 26, 1980
The Sportatorium

I usually do not care about Drums>Space...it's my time to have a cigarette and a wizz, in concert OR at home. But this rips.

Saint of Circumstance

Radio City Music Hall

Wheel > Saint > Peter. Who had that on their bingo blotters? Doubt all were on the same page here...Bobby puts in the extra effort to justify the call

Estimated Prophet
Oct. 26, 1980
Radio City Music Hall

Between equipment troubles, tempo disagreements, and a false start...this Prophet was fated to release itself in a deformed, chaotic expression.

Friend of the Devil
Nov. 26, 1980
The Sportatorium

gd1980-11-26.135530.sbd.miller.flac16 Mix still hasn't been fully set, so barely any drums...or guitars...just a sky high Mydland ripping like an angel sucking on a devil.
Lost Sailor -> Saint of Circumstance

The Sportatorium

Jerry really feeling this late first set ripper.

I went to the ends of the earth to verify that they did, indeed, play it this slow...or somehow a gigantic magnetic field was cast upon the dozen-or-so isolated recording units capturing this. Further than mellow...this drags your head straight into the basement. Real bummer...but powerful and beautiful
It Must Have Been The Roses
Oct. 23, 1980
Radio City Music Hall

gd80-10-23.101256 --- I thought the previous night had a rowdy Chad crowd...nothing compared to these schmucks. I believe the conversation/request to please be quiet was attempted...and they very firmly asserted they were not going to shut up. Even though these guys are harshing out the entire section...someone still passes them a rose...("pass the rose" triggered different images in my head) Maybe the sentiment brought a brief moment of self-awareness? Or maybe the taper moved the mics...

Is Mickey really playing a Dhol here? I'm hearing the specific phased 'swoop' sound of Punjabi music. Quite distracting. Makes you think...Mickey might be the REAL king of the wooks for making them think drums were cool. Too bad, drums suck.
