A sprawling and celebratory 2nd set opener to a fantastic under the radar show from 1987

Spanish Jam
April 7, 1984
Irvine Meadows
Sweet version out of space, flows to a short but fiery TOO. This shines in the recently liberated Knudsen soundboard.
Playin' In The Band
March 14, 1982
Recreation Hall - University of California
They way this one takes off into the jam portion gives it an almost '73 - '74ish feel . Cool segue into Scarlet.
Drums -> Space
March 14, 1982
Recreation Hall - University of California
The Space is pretty cool. Contains a Happy Birthday jam.
Estimated Prophet
April 3, 1982
The Scope
What's cool about this version is that the Estimated > Eyes segue is very very similar to the Scarlet > Fire segue that opened the set. Both very unique must listen to jams.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Feb. 17, 1982
Warfield Theater
This version holds up against any of the great versions from '82. Scarlet has a nice groove to it with a syrupy sweet segue to FOTM. Lots of funky staccato plunking. I'd take this one over the Manor Downs version.
