Maggie's Farm

Coming out of MAMU, builds to a nice pace with that classic "rainbow full of sound" feeling

The Other One
July 12, 1987
Giants Stadium
Coming out of space, into Stella, classic pairing going into and out of The Other One. They take their sweet time getting there, this is a spacey one

The Other One
April 2, 1990
The Omni
Comes out of a weird but not too weird space, going into the last death don't have no mercy. Lots of midi, to be expected, but still pretty decent.

El Paso
May 19, 1974
Portland Memorial Coliseum
Basically an instrumental, as many have noticed, the vocals are shot for a good portion of the first set

Sugar Magnolia
June 10, 1973
RFK Stadium
Solid. Doesn't blast you to the moon necessarily, but a fine display of some summertime jammin' at one of the shows of the year

Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
April 15, 1978
William and Mary College Hall
There's no such thing as the best version, but they opened with this... Englishtown has a better mid solo and Tuscaloosa is special in its own right, but this one has the best post Rio Grandeo section, just unbelievably powerful and they milk everything they can out of it in just the right time. New Dave's Picks sounds wonderful
Morning Dew

William and Mary College Hall
Wow. Holy fuuuck, I loved this before the Dave's release and the remaster sounds damn near perfect. Unbelievable show, April is to 78 what May is to 77.
Not Fade Away
March 18, 1977
Winterland Arena
Even despite the cut, this one peaks soooo much harder than Cornell, it's ridiculous. As mentioned above, the boys weave mojo workin' and MLB throughout a just absolutely smoking nfa. The second set of this show is just all-time Grateful Dead, not that the first set is weak, but every song in the second is played with incredible precision. There are a plethora of hidden-gem shows of 77 that are just waiting for their release, and this one is at the top of my pile, with 10-2 right behind. Great shit from start to finish
The Music Never Stopped
June 7, 1991
Deer Creek Music Center
Vince, I'm pretty sure, is just absolutely letting 'er rip. Very dense towards the end, love it
Terrapin Station
March 18, 1977
Winterland Arena
Deserves to be so much higher. Played with feeling, the storyteller was on fine display this night
