Sugar Magnolia

Cool little song but definitely not Sugar Mag. Seems more like a traditional folk melody like Turkey in the Straw or Cotton Eyed Joe that, conversely, probably influenced Sugar Mag!
Sugaree
March 15, 1990
Capital Centre
fantastic one, i've been loving it recently. overall no match for the locked-in transcendence of 77 but when jerry hits his stride in 89-90 you get passages of melodic sophistication that go beyond what he was capable of in the 70s
Big River
May 7, 1977
Boston Garden
Completely nuts. The transition alone is sleek enough, but Jerry is so hyped he almost goes into a Dancin' in the Streets mutron solo during the intro riff!
Friend of the Devil
July 2, 1989
Sullivan Stadium
Great version! I even like Bobby's equipment problems during the last solo, it would drag down a mediocre performance but on a good one it's all part of the fun
Me and Bobby McGee

Winterland Arena
great song, never much liked bobby's treatment but this one feels fresh and jerry is all over it!
