Candyman
Jan. 31, 1978
Uptown Theater
It seems like this version is available in soundboard quality, but maybe that's for the best. The way the audience swells after Jerry sings "I'd blow you straight to hell" brings you straight to the Uptown Theatre. While Jerry's voice was weak from laryngitis in January 1978, in my opinion, there's real beauty in the fragility he sings with, especially for ballads like this one.
One More Saturday Night
May 26, 1972
Strand Lyceum
It's the one they chose for Europe '72, and there's a reason for that.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Feb. 21, 1973
Assembly Hall, University Of Illinois
Dick Latvala called this one of his favorite versions of the song. It was included on 30 Days of Dead 2013. Definitely deserves more attention than it has, Feb. '73 was smokin'!
