Pigpen's funky organ and early Jerry and the boy, very driving sound for early Dead!

The boys were in a really nice place this night. Killer harp work and Jerry is smoking. This is one of the better shows of 71 IMO!!

Jerry's guitar is smoking here. The beat is really funky also. Always a crowd pleaser!

Cosmic Charlie
June 14, 1976
Beacon Theatre

First version of this played in a while and you can hear the crowd road. What a contrast to the fast upbeat set taking it way down. Love it!!!

Dancin' in the Streets

Tower Theatre

Funky as they get, this entire second set is as groovy as they come. What a treat!

The beginning of this song is pure disco beats. Never heard that until now, what a powerhouse version...
To Lay Me Down

Winterland Arena

This version is absolutely breath taking, should be near the top of the list..
St. Stephen
May 8, 1977
Barton Hall - Cornell University

I'm gonna have to agree with this vote as top notch. In a show I definitely feel is good but not great the vibe of this version is awesome. Broke the tape listening to this version way back when!
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
May 8, 1977
Barton Hall - Cornell University

35th anniversary of this legendary show today. Spun the Scarlet>Fire and enjoyed it, not sure if it's #1 though. I personally prefer 05-17-77 better but that's IMO. Beautiful still though 35yrs and counting!!
