This may be the best of the year, and certainly the best to date. In some ways the song doesn't take off until 1973--Garcia is sometimes more tentative, and not that loud, but here the Alligator is in overdrive, both literally and figuratively....

Come on, motherfuckers!! This is the shit! In Fall 1972, sometimes Garcia gets extra overdrive going (see also Sept 15) and demonstrates why this is one of the best songs they do...
