Friend of the Devil
Dec. 31, 1977

Better Jerry solo than the other '77s, but same aesthetic otherwise.

Eyes Of The World
Sept. 2, 1983
Boise Pavilion - Boise State University

Not too speedy, well jammed and ends with a one of kind improv between Bobby, Brent and the drummers.

The solos in Lady with a Fan are fucking beautiful.

The Music Never Stopped
Dec. 17, 1978
Fox Theatre

Delicate, sweet playing in the midsection and a good outro. The linked source is not great, but there is a SBD.

Tennessee Jed
Nov. 13, 1978
Music Hall

Thunderous climax. The last two minutes of the song are tight.

Feelin' Groovy Jam
May 25, 1974
Campus Stadium, UCSB

It's a rapid Feelin' Groovy and the burn on Mexicalis and MAMUs is warranted.

Best acoustic birdsong.
The Music Never Stopped
May 9, 1977

"Mesmeride" is the best new word I've come across in a while. I have been going back and forth between "midjam," "midsection" and "spacey section" for a long time and I hate all of them. (I'll probably still use them.) And you're right, this one (5/9/77) has no mesmeride – but it does have one of the great outros. The midsection starts to stretch in October '77 and 10/16/77 is a great early midsection and solid outro. 4/24 is good, particularly for its outro - but check out 7/3/78 which has the superior mesmeride.
Franklin's Tower

Nassau Coliseum

Lightning fast and pretty coherent.
