Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
Oct. 14, 1976
Shrine Auditorium

The last halfstep of '76. After Rio Grandeo everyone including the crowd gets into it. The source is a B+ AUD.

Brown Eyed Women

This one is fiery, especially the solo, in the vein of 8/24/80, including a hint of a Delilah Jones growl.

Sugaree
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

The second break is where this is best, but even there JG starts fanning too quickly for my taste. There are some big 1977 Sugarees. It would be hard to argue that this one belongs in the May conversation. On the other hand, listening to this Sugaree is still better than not listening to it.
New Minglewood Blues
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

This one is justifiably high as I see it. Like most of us, I imagine, I've heard a million minglewoods. But this one stood out to me. Jerry Garcia is shredding.
Estimated Prophet
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

I like it. There are some differences in the way the song is presented. For example, it's in the first set and it's not a big vehicle for improvisation - they return to the original theme to close the song out at about 7 minutes. If you like May 77 EPs - and the abundance of those versions in the EP top ten says that many do, you should hear this one as well.
They Love Each Other
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

This is not my favorite song, but deadheadben commented on this recently and it reminded me of this show. I decided to listen to the two feb 77 shows again and TLEO is three songs into those two nights. This one deserves some hype for a few things: Jerry's solo, the band's unity and the sound quality.
The Wheel
Feb. 26, 1977
Swing Auditorium

The whole final movement of the set is so very mellow.
