Caution
May 12, 1980
Boston Garden

This is a pretty intense early 80s-style Caution jam. I was surprised to find this just now.

The Music Never Stopped
Dec. 1, 1979
Stanley Theater

A unique beginning with nice peaks to both the mid jam and the outro.

Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
Feb. 4, 1979
Dane County Coliseum

The final Keith and Donna Half Step stands up well, even though there's one lonely AUD.

Mississippi Halfstep Uptown Toodeloo
May 11, 1979
Billerica Forum

An early Brent Mydland Half Step with electric piano pre rio grandeo and a joyful Garcia solo afterwards.

Sugaree
Oct. 18, 1978
Winterland Arena

No fanning or soaring peaks, but solo 3 (7:45-12:45 on CM's SBD) is a new favorite - sublime, mellow, laid back.

Got My Mojo Working
Oct. 21, 1978
Winterland Arena

This song has never really made a dent in my ear the way that it did this afternoon. I will now be listening to the others, but, to be honest, this one is good enough for me. And I will second the notion that the sequence from here through Stella is required listening for people who know what good music smells like. Maybe top 1%.
Mind Left Body Jam
June 8, 1992
Richfield Coliseum

MLB and Dear Prudence share a trait. They both involve repeating chromatic sequences that consist of four descending notes.
Sugaree
Aug. 14, 1981
Seattle Center Coliseum

The third solo break is one of the best episodes in any Sugaree. (The first is ok, the second not bad). The 3rd break starts out spacey and delicate. Eventually it reaches the flight of the bumblebee. That 3rd break is worth a listen at volume.
Eyes Of The World
Nov. 5, 1979
The Spectrum

For me, the most ethereal Eyes. Sublime yet uptempo, but never screeching - that's the ethereal part. Just moving along apace, in the clouds. Rarely this soft again until the slowdown a decade later.
Dupree's Diamond Blues
Oct. 2, 1977
Paramount Theatre

The admittedly awesome bust out of Casey Jones (show opener, an obvious number 1) has 11 times the votes (on the day I write this).
