Brown Eyed Women
Oct. 28, 1977
Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Hall

Every bit the equal of Cornell. 8/24/80 still has a better solo, but this is 1977 y'all.

Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Hall

Perfect, with some filthy guitar in the outro.

Scarlet Begonias

Red Rocks Ampitheatre

1984 audience only standalone Scarlet (touch) at Red Rocks. Great solo, excellent transition.

10 minutes, on YouTube and worth a peek in b/w scarlet>bucket and terrapin.

Hell in a Bucket

Hampton Coliseum

Out of Scarlet Begonias to open the second set, with some teases of the song in the transition.

Franklin's Tower
Sept. 28, 1975
Lindley Meadows, Golden Gate Park

I see that this is not one from the vault or what the song would later become, but it’s good for what it is and the let the music play solo is one of a kind. There’s no other like it and I recommend that you crank the shit out of it.
Estimated Prophet
May 5, 1978
Thompson Arena - Dartmouth College

I listened to this three times today but I hadn’t ever heard it before. As Grendel says, the 1st solo break is fantastic. I like the outro too, especially the first minute or so, but the memorable segment in this version is that first break. Top notch.
Wharf Rat
Dec. 31, 1976
Cow Palace

This one is no joke, off on its own trip. I love the guitar tone Jerry uses on the outro.
Sugaree
Sept. 25, 1976
Capital Centre

Solo 2 is tight and is a slice straight out of 77. The climax to that second break - the last two minutes of it - is a Sugaree moment that can hold its own with almost any other.
Pretty Peggy O
Aug. 24, 1980
Grand Center

This one is an authentic sleeper. One vote when I got here. Top 10 Peggyo. SQ could be better but everyone’s cool with the BEW from this show.
