Looks Like Rain
May 11, 1977
St. Paul Civic Center Arena

A perfect rendition and maybe best of May 77. Bob and Donna really harmonize well at end. This St. Paul show deserves more hype.

This hot version from St. Paul is from a very under-rated show that is better than Mosque show IMHO.

Cryptical Envelopment
Aug. 23, 1971
Auditorium Theatre

The vital cryptical reprise that climaxes like all the best crypticals do. Is it 2/13/70 or 5/2/70??? No, but its damn good.

Hard to Handle

Yale Bowl, Yale University

Played a week before the 8/6/71 version, but super hot also. Both versions are a part of Road Trips Vol1-3.

Only about 8 mins, but some nice runs by Jerry in the middle. Worth checking out. Dave's picks#2.

Awesome extended transition out of top 5 Eyes! The thing flat out cooks aside from the cool transition.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Iowa State Fairgrounds

Love listening to 6/16! Just a tremendous China/Rider. It has a unique transition that has a moment of shred/chaos and then into the feeling groovy theme. Clocks in at 10.5 minutes and is just one of the best in year of great versions.

Shoreline Amphitheatre

This first set has 6 first set openers played throughout the first set. Great Jack Straw and Alabama to follow...pretty cool.

Good call...maybe my favorite.
Lost Sailor -> Saint of Circumstance
May 6, 1980
Rec Hall, Penn State U

Maybe I was a little harsh...I do like the 01 and Stranger from this night, but not much from the next. I have every release from the band and I do rotate thru them at least once a year aside from when I beat the release to death after it comes in the mail. with that being said...aside from the O1 and Stranger...I am kinda like ho-hum. I do appreciate DL releasing lesser known shows, but I expect a lot of them once they are released. Lesser known shows are cool, but I expect epicness if they are released. There is a lot of great shit from 1980 and seemed as if the playing was good on this night, but there is better stuff out there that he could of released. No hard feelings....I agree with you 99.9% of the time, tho.
