Fallout from the Phil Zone. Unique, one of the finest early versions.

HUGE early Dancin', possibly the best ever--they are just totally dialed into one another like fingers of a hand!

Wow, this is superb. Jerry is brutal and sharp as a tack during the intro jam! After that things get more introspective but quite beautiful...

One of the heaviest crescendos ever; the peaks are just unbelievable!

Newpot is right. TFTV = 8/24/68 ONLY. The album mislabeled the date as 8/23-24.

Right after the MLB Phil drives them into a brief Other One-ish jam as well.

Eyes Of The World

Freedom Hall

Next to 10/29/73, this is one of the tightest (and best) versions ever played. Phil owns his solo and the post song minor key sections really sparkle.

The pre verse portion of this DS is amazing with supple, jazzy ensemble playing, that wanders through many different themes. Things start to really cook around 15 mins. With Garcia leading the charge through a fast paced, bebop type passage that sounds like it might break into an MLB jam. The post verse space is very minimalistic, but segues into a hard hitting Eyes of the World. All in all this is one of the best Dark Stars of the year, and this full suite of second set jams maybe some of the best of all time.
