Surprised this isn't listed yet. This version is by far the best with the horns, with Jerry and Martin really getting into it with some fiery leads!

Monster reprise, one of the longest and best ever.

Unusual and fiery version making up the meat of an otherworldly Playin' sandwich.

Cryptical Envelopment

Fillmore West

Without question, the best Crypt reprise ever performed. This one reaches the limits of space and time.

Scarlet Begonias

Cow Palace

First ever Scarlet Begonias. Very unusual sound with a very tentative, bluesy feel, but it's still a keeper and worth hearing for the novelty at least

Love it! Speedy with a good dose of fusion jamming. Keith sounds really cool on these early summer '73 shows.

Agreed! Such a special moment from the early era that I love so!

Amazing Dark Star!!! The jams in and around Phil's "unidentified 6/8 jam", especially Garcia's playing, are simply extraordinary. Lesh repeats this theme in a lot of '73 Stars and Other Ones, but this one is the very best IMO, and the song as a whole is perhaps the best unsung version of the '73-'74 period. More heads should know about this one!

Indeed, the 'Stronger than Dirt' especially cooks!
