This whole run has a really special vibe to it. DP14 is my favorite official release ever. And I agree with the comments about Mickey. I think the band was better off with 1 drummer. Now to really go hide under my chair - I feel the same way about Pigpen... September ‘72 - October ‘74 was the absolute peak Dead lineup in my opinion.

Fantastic version. Surprised this isn’t higher up. Definitely smokes 11/14 and a few other above it. Keith’s piano is funky and wonderful, and Jerry’s playing is mellow yet purposeful. Not a note out of place.

This is a wonderful version, but it doesn’t have that spacey, fall ‘73 feel that I just love so much. For that reason I can’t put it above 11/30/73 and even 11/21/73, which I’m surprised isn’t ranking higher. Still a top 5 version though.
