Short but sweet

They certainly went out with a bang on this song. It’s crazy that they shelved it for almost 20 years just a few months after they really started to nail it. 11/30/73 is still my favorite though - which isn’t surprising given that Dick’s Picks 14 is my favorite official release ever.

Grendel, the more I listen to 2/23/74 the more I like it. Not quite as spacey as some late ‘73s that I’m so fond of, but it’s still an absolute top notch version. I think I’ve already voted for it... I’ll listen to it again now. My top 5 (in chronological order) are 11/17/73, 11/21/73, 11/30/73, 12/19/73 and 2/23/74.

I felt the need to make a second comment on this. This version is worlds better than the 4 versions currently above it (6/22/73, 4/2/73, 11/14/73 and 2/15/73). This is in my top 3 along with 11/17/73 and 12/30/73.

The more I listen to 5/7/77, 11/6/77 and this one I think this is the best one. 11/6/77 has some missed peaks and a sloppy ending. This one is perfect.

Except for Bobby playing the wrong song for the first 15sec, this version is perfect - not that I expected anything less for this exceptional week in late September ‘72. This should be top 10, at least.
