Just listened to this again on Dick’s Picks 31. What a fantastic version. This really needs more votes. Should at least be in the top 10 in my opinion.

Not listed in most setlists, but it's in Dark Star from about 7:30 - 9:30. Absolutely gorgeous little version from a great, great show.

Beautifully sung, which wasn’t always the case for this song. This is one of those examples where you realize Donna could really add something incredible to the band.

Agree with the above. I'd also like to add that Jerry's second solo is absolutely incredible. My favorite Row Jimmy solo ever. It's slow but deliberate, and every note is perfect. I love when Jer would drop the slide for Row Jimmy solos, which happened a lot more in 1973 than it did in 1977. I don't know how to describe it musically, but what he does from about 6:35 - 4:45 is just mind-blowingly beautiful. I wonder if people are getting this one confused with the May 19, 1977 version ranked so much higher because its description says "The Dick's Picks 29 version." Dick's Picks 29 has 2 versions of Row Jimmy, and this one is clearly superior. Listen and vote it up, folks!

I love the unique pause Jerry does before singing “...fields around.” Everybody in the band is so locked in during that split second to create this funky, groovy, in-the-pocket type feel. Just another one of those magical moments only the Dead could produce...
