Amazing version sung by BRent Jerry and Bobby at various times, Just energetic and gorgeous as good as this song can be, amazingly beautiful and as heady as can be this is beautiful, I remeber a time a snob friend of mine dismissed all of the pre coma 80's and i was a newbie and for years listened to him. it took people dissing the late 90's which i saw a lot of and new there were some gem moments if not whole shows very often that i relistened to the early 80's and wholly shit there is some awesome stuff. Been catching up on neglecting them over the last 10 years or so. Still prefer the 60's and 70's but i do love some 80's and this is amazing possibly among my top couple if not favorite UJB, great stuff here. (If a little confusing i basically didnt listen to many shows from 1980-1986 until about 2005 or so.)
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Very speedy version, Brent is definitely in control flying right along with Jerry, sweet Jams with that little extra, This is a VERY HOT Scarlet at warp speed, this is a good one for Brent era fans loads of Mr. Mydland and Jerry back and forth on the Scarlet jams, nice healy vocal effects (minimal echo added) on the second verse, Brent and Jerry just mastered this Scarlet, wonderful nice interesting transition starting, BRent and Jerry are really playing off each other, ahh hear comes Mr. Lesh with a few things to say, NICE.The transition almost has a China Rider transition feel at one point. Jerry enters fire while the trasition was still really cooking, Hitting lots of the funky notes while fill lays down a nice foundation and Brent is still on top of this just killing the keys. The pre lyrics Fire Jam is nice and funky, Lyrics a little shaky but Bobby is there to help prop him up singing a nice backup, Jerry hits the first solo nicely with brent still right along, Jerry bending and twisting notes in a slightly different than normal way, then verse two well sung and Brent still bubbling over with energy, Jerry nicely hits the dreams come true, Bobby and Jerry hit the chorus nicely, Weir sounds very aggressive. Next Jam jerry and Brent are a little more mellow with it, Jerry hitting those nice high piercing notes but at a little slower pace they definitely slowed it down for fire compared to the break neck pace of Scarlet. The funk tone returns just before the third verse, again Brent running up and down the keys while jerry sings hitting this verse well, again the chorus with an aggressive Bobby, leads into the final jam, The funky note bending tone has returned Jerry is leading the final jam Brent is right there with him Jerry starts vamping little nice Brent twinkles along fantastic stuff. Beautifully brought to an end by Brent, Jerry (funky toned), and the drummers.
