Not Fade Away
June 19, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre

Possibly in memory of kindred spirit John Cippolina who had recently passed away. This is super hot, improvisational in a way NFA rarely is, this is just some smazing must hear Grateful Dead. Please listen to this show incediary comes to mind. The call and response ending is fantastic this evening with Bobby, Jerry, and Brent. Please do yourself a favor and listen to this it is the definition of heady.
Throwing Stones
June 19, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre

Brent is absolutely killing it though creating a super hot version, does not have the total freakout ending but rather leads into an also hot Not Fade Away. The boys are playing exceptionally well this evening, another gem from 1989.
Black Peter
June 19, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre

The playing on this version is as good as any black peter you will find, absolutely fantastic. Jerry also adds that extra special emotion to the lyrics like ONLY he can. Wonderful backing by Brent at times. THis is the stuff that just touches every fiber of your soul like only the grateful dead can, a great headphones get lost in it version, the way they wind it down and slam it into Throwing Stones is also pretty cool.
All Along the Watchtower
June 19, 1989
Shoreline Amphitheatre

Brent laying down some hot keys but Jerry is just on fire ripping notes it is fantastic. Bobby's growl is all-time this is super hot a true all-timer just blistering with intense energy. some nice rhythm from bobby during the meaty jam.
