Soundcheck! Excellent sound on source provided & brilliant flowing ripping Garcia leads. Classic '76 "backwards" version.

Ultra hot mid jam (Bobby nearly plunges back too early but Jerry forges ahead) & Brent is all over the ivories. Hot stuff in Philly.

Can't fathom how this A+ 90s version, with a gorgeous, relaxed tempo & delicate Garcia touches throughout hadn't made the list Great show, great EYES

This one starts out super-mellow but Garcia takes care of that in his first monster solo heading into the "got up & wandered" verse. It's a GD jaw-dropper & like the rest of this show the band is right there with him. Just another brilliant '77 here.

^^^^That would be a blast, but if you mean WI that is way beyond my travel range these days! (I did make the crazy drive out there in '89 though and boy was it worth it)!

^^^^Agree especially that this trounces 11/6/77 & I adore that show, but come on, objectively speaking this is miles above Binghamton and yet it sits below it on the list. Inexplicable. There is so much more confidence in both the singing and jamming here. Both versions now have official release sound quality to judge by. It's no contest...please get this one at least above Binghamton

Yes Moberg, very nice indeed thx for pointing this one out. I'm not a huge fan of '87 overall but for some reason I like the way they were doing this tune then (&when Jerry could remember the lyrics, never a given). I was at the 3-day run in Irvine at Easter a couple weeks after this show and there's a nice version from that run as well with some fun giddy up to the closing section. This version has some of that same get up and go to it. +1 (Edit: Should be made clear...that second solo is pretty damn impressive)

It is my fervent hope that with the official release of this show, with A+ sound reproduction, that people will finally realize how hard this version rocks, that its two tsunami rush jam sections are unequalled, and that this GOAT Half Step moves from bronze to gold where it belongs. The numbers say it'll never surpass Englishtown, but it really is so much better....and that's saying a lot.
