Soundcheck! Excellent sound on source provided & brilliant flowing ripping Garcia leads. Classic '76 "backwards" version.

Ultra hot mid jam (Bobby nearly plunges back too early but Jerry forges ahead) & Brent is all over the ivories. Hot stuff in Philly.

Can't fathom how this A+ 90s version, with a gorgeous, relaxed tempo & delicate Garcia touches throughout hadn't made the list Great show, great EYES

^^^^i I have to agree. A lot of heads I respect swear this song is the last great one I they ever wrote but I don't see it. Seems like a chore for the band to get through not to mention Jerry's really plain awful vocal croaking...his voice by this time simply couldn't handle this kind of dirge. The song itself is so devoid of rhythm or melody and is almost atonal. Just terrible stuff

Absolutely needs to climb the ladder. Top tier 1982 played with speed but also precision, Garcia's playing more fluid than choppy and the whole band in step. Energy sustains throughout and crystal clear board on source provided doesn't hurt either. Plus one.

There isn't any earthly reasn this should be so low on the board, other than it occurs in a year with so many incredible versions it can get lost in the shuffle. But this one needs more ears on it, especially for the outro section, which is mellower then most but hits every transition in the jam segments like a smooth sliding gear change, then empties out into a free floating gentle space before settling into the opening notes of Weather Report. Astonishingly excelllent EYES hiding in plain sight at single digit votes.
