Ramble On Rose
Oct. 21, 1971
Auditorium Theatre
Keith's second show & he's all over this faster paced super fun honky tonk version!

The Weight
June 7, 1991
Deer Creek Music Center
This is really the best one I've heard--everyobody nails their parts/lyrics...great piano fills on the side (yay, Bruce!). Just exactly, etc.

Althea
Sept. 9, 1982
Saenger Performing Arts Center
Incredible. Check out Brent's fills during the epic post-lyrics outro. A must-listen top tier Althea w/bounce, power, & panache!

Deal
Feb. 23, 1974
Winterland Arena
Apparently no one is aware that a fellow named Keith played in this band or this version would have 50 votes already. Needs to be heard!

Pretty Peggy O
Sept. 4, 1980
Providence Civic Center
Outside of 1977 this may be the best version I've heard. A+ vocals from Jerry, killer mid-solo; slightly faster tempo. Must hear. Gr8 Matrix!

Sugar Magnolia
June 20, 1983
Merriweather Post Pavilion
Frenetic, energetic, explosive especially in the latter part of the tune, but, it has to be said...pretty darn sloppy overall. Donnie's criticism might be a bit overdone but he's not totally wrong. Can't upvote this one even though the energy of it is undeniable. Must have been a blast to be there.
Wharf Rat
Dec. 27, 1977
Winterland Arena
Lost in a sea of great Rats from this year, I suspect, but yeah, like almost every song/show from the end of this Winterland run, this one is outstanding.
Cassidy
March 28, 1985
Nassau Coliseum
Three tiered monster, every turn executed beautifully, a fine example of a long version success. Would likely have more votes if a strronger SBD version was available but there's a decent one to be found. Worth the listen.
Bird Song
July 21, 1972
Paramount Northwest Theater
That should be WA. vibe, as in Seattle. Sweet version either way.
Loser
Feb. 26, 1973
Pershing Municipal Auditorium
I normally don't pay a lot of attention to the earlier versions of this tune because they lack the monster middle jams that would come in the mid 80s and culminate in the best ever version from 1990 at the Knick, but I should because the vocal delivery on ones like this are so good that it offers a different kind of experience and a very satisfying one. This whole DP is one of the top 10 in the entire series including Dave's) and I've overlooked this version of Loser unfairly until now. Thanks for bringing it to light.
