The Other One
Dec. 28, 1983
Civic Auditorium
Equal parts journey and freakout

Stella Blue
Nov. 4, 1977
Cotterell Gym - Colgate University
Compelling take from one of those Platonic Ideal 1977 shows. The transition from Iko Iko is a million times better than it has any right to be, just Pure Grateful Dead Magic at work.
Estimated Prophet
Aug. 12, 1979
Red Rocks Amphitheatre
So many great little moments in here. Spunky solo from Brent fairly early on into the jam. Pulls itself into a moment of transcendence around the 10 minute mark and then fizzles beautifully into Eyes.
Terrapin Station
Aug. 4, 1982
Kiel Auditorium
Quite an outlier to have a big jam out of Terrapin in the early 80s. It takes a little while to figure itself out, but once Brent starts laying down some sassy chords leading into Drums you'll have appreciated the journey.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
April 13, 1983
Patrick Gymnasium, U of Vermont
Beautiful spacey jam at the end of Scarlet that turns into Fire on a dime. What's not to like?
He's Gone
June 9, 1973
RFK Stadium
The quietly transcendent jam at the end of this one is really something, as is the hairpin turn into Truckin.
