Ship of Fools

Easy song to overlook (I had no idea I forgot to submit it as I love this show), but this is a good one.

Baltimore Civic Center

Surprised not to see this one; killer start to one of the year's best shows.

Beat it on Down The Line
March 9, 1981
Madison Square Garden

I often think of this one as a throwaway, but this version flat out kicks ass. Great solo from Jerry. These shows at MSG smoked.

Black Peter

Buckeye Lake Music Center

Great version from one the best 1993 shows. Jerry's vocals are excellent and the outro jam smokes.

Man Smart, Woman Smarter

Dean Smith Center - University of North Carolina

Seriously funky version with great work from Jer.

Estimated Prophet
Oct. 30, 1991
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

To quote Dylan, 'hotter than a crotch.' One of the best ever post-Brent performances of this song. Bruce is on fire here and I love Weir's vocals.
Terrapin Station
Oct. 30, 1991
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

The heaviness of Bill Graham's passing is dripping all over this run, and it made the band channel some serious intensity into the big numbers: "Scarlet -> Fire," "Playin'," "Estimated," "Eyes," the Kesey "Dark Star," and this "Terrapin Station." This a truly epic performance, oozing elegance and stateliness thanks to Hornsby's gorgeously executed piano tinkering as well as Jerry's appropriately weathered voice. The jam is also hot. An underrated "Terrapin" that deserves a lot more votes.
Brown Eyed Women
Oct. 27, 1979
Cape Cod Coliseum

Beautiful version. Brent's keyboards are great here.
Dark Star
Oct. 31, 1991
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

There are definitely moments towards the end that remind me of Veneta. This is really an amazing "Dark Star," in the Top 5 among post-Brent versions.
Wharf Rat
Sept. 22, 1993
Madison Square Garden

Not the best ever, but up there. Chilling version.
