Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Sept. 4, 1991
Richfield Coliseum

Again, a prime example of how good this band was that a knockout like this is ranked so low. At the very least, it's the best "S -> F" with Hornsby. Up until 10/14/94, it was probably the best post-Brent version as well.
Hell in a Bucket
April 1, 1995
Pyramid Arena

I love these shows. Say what you will about 1995, and there's a lot to say but the band and especially Jerry did right by Memphis.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Sept. 13, 1993
The Spectrum

Listened to this one again yesterday and need to double down on my previous comment. This is about as pedestrian as the Dead can get without sinking to 1994-95 levels of 'terribleness.' At no point did I feel the spice or energy that color the best "S-F."'s. Jerry's awake enough to sound competent, but he never gets adventurous. Even we're measuring this against solely post-Brent versions, every 1991 version with Hornsby kicks this one's ass (9/4/91 is a fire breather), to say nothing of 10/14/94 of course.
Drums -> Space
Sept. 14, 1991
Madison Square Garden

Very nice coming out of a chilling "He's Gone."
Shakedown Street
Sept. 10, 1990
The Spectrum

It's a testament to how great the band really is that a performance this hot gets only 2 votes; this is an absolutely wicked "Shakedown" with a white knuckle peak. They wasted no time in showing they could survive Brent's loss, and 1990 rolled along as smoothly as it started.
