New Minglewood Blues
Sept. 8, 1990
Coliseum
Not as strong as later versions with Vince but Jerry takes a hot solo.

Friend of the Devil
Sept. 8, 1990
Coliseum
Vince's first FOTD is excellent. He sits back and adds some nice, subtle fills while Jerry's sharp, articulate riffs take center stage.

They Love Each Other
Nov. 25, 1983
Cleveland Music Hall
If we can post JGB performances, I feel compelled to post this motherfucker of a TLEO.

Sugaree
Sept. 8, 1990
Coliseum
Vince's first at his second ever show. One of the best of the 1990s'.

Black Peter

Jerry's vocals are great here.

Shakedown Street
Dec. 31, 1984
SF Civic
This is the best Shakes down. I used to be on the Merriweather bandwagon and that version is still outstanding to me but this one is longer, stronger, and funkier. Just never lets up.
Sugar Magnolia
Feb. 21, 1995
Delta Center
I'd be curious to see if there were any versions from 1995 that are better. This, "The Music Never Stopped" and "Truckin'" all received their last truly great renditions at this show.
Comes A Time
Sept. 16, 1991
Madison Square Garden
I love this "Comes a Time." So rich, mature and soulful. First one in awhile, I think.
Jack Straw
Sept. 14, 1991
Madison Square Garden
This is an excellent Jack Straw from a fantastic show that made Rolling Stone's list of best Dead shows.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
March 27, 1988
Hampton Coliseum
Listening to this one now, this is a great version. "Scarlet" is nice and laid back and the last 3 1/2 minutes before it enters "Fire" are quite beautiful. Then Jerry lays the heat down on "Fire."
