Standing On The Moon
Dec. 30, 1989
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Arena

Passionate vocals and Jerry torches the solo something righteous.

Swirling, dreamlike version to end a great 1st set.

When I Paint My Masterpiece
Dec. 30, 1989
Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Arena

Not a song I often acknowledge, but Bobby delivers a great vocal here. Good performance all around.

Throwaway song, but this version cooks.

Drums -> Space

Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

All of the "D/S" sequences from this Oakland run are noteworthy. Lots of emotion and anger running through them. Bill's death hit them hard and they channeled that grief into four excellent shows. At times you can almost feel Bill's specter running through them.

1991 was a good year for "BEW." 6-17 is of course the best, probably, but this and 10-30 deserve attention as well.

"Black Peter" is one I usually don't pay much attention to, but I really love this version. Jerry's voice is in shape, and Vince has a B3 sound going throughout that makes me think of Brent. But it's really the drummers that grab me here. The climax is really excellent, everyone's in sync and throwing in something tasty.

Indeed it is. What a killer show.

If you love Phil, you'll wanna hear this "BEW." Jerry isn't as crisp on this one as he was four days earlier, but he still delivers.
