Uncle John's Band
March 27, 1995
The Omni

Talk about a sleeper...along with the "PITB" before it, this is probably the last time the Grateful Dead really went the distance in terms of jamming.

Promised Land

Alpine Valley

Searing work from Brent in a typically strong 1989 version. Surprised this was represented from a legendary show.

Rockin' version from the summer of '89.

Giants Stadium

Creepy crawly version with lots of different themes and moods just like all good Spaces.

Not exceptionally long but still a very good version. Phil's great here.

Eyes Of The World
March 20, 1991
Capital Centre

Magical version that demands more love. Same with the "Foolish Heart" that follows.
Dark Star
Dec. 12, 1992
Oakland Coliseum

This one made it to the latest 30 Days so I figured it had to be worth a listen. This is a very good twilight era "Dark Star" with an excellent acid jazz breakdown where Vince especially shines. Not as good 3/20/92, but at 13 minutes it's a lengthy version that gets out there. Coupled with the 12 minute reprise on 12/16 (Dick's Picks 27), you have a good 20 minute of satisfying "Dark Star." Probably the last truly expansive version before 5-7 minute versions became the norm.
Terrapin Station

Ventura County Fairgrounds

This is a great version.
Terrapin Station

Lakeland Civic Center

Yea, this one hits the sweet spot. Less intense, "cozy" is indeed the right word. It's like a warm blanket or a cool summer breeze. Love this one.
Smokestack Lightnin'

World Music Theatre

Best one I've heard. Jerry's solo is divine.
