Shut your eyes and listen to the colors of your mind. This song is a guilty pleasure for me, so I've checked out quite a few, and this one is hot.

Not really the best I've heard, but Phil drops some serious bombs throughout.

An exceptional performance from a one off show in summer '78.

The best performance of this song since 1972? Jerry belts out a sweet Candyman afterwards.

Keith steps in when Jerry's guitar channel literally dies. Very nice, Mr. Godchaux.

Da fak is this doing so low? This is the essential version, with the lysergic melt-down around the 4:30 mark. Bobby's rhythm work here is truly extraordinary, not to mention the Jer solos and Phil.

I hate to be "that guy" in the comments thread (although it appears I am not alone), but there are a number of better versions of "Althea" that are more emotive than this from a variety of different years...it's all about that "this space is getting hot" crescendo for me.

Wow, those vocals before the first jam. Incredible. Is that still Pigpen on organ, or TC?
The Other One

Although Hunter's matrices usually get my vote, check out the Jim Groves matrix of this show. It mixes a little less audience in.
Uncle John's Band

Epic workman's version of this Workingman's tune. Pure acoustic bliss.
