Ramble On Rose
Dec. 8, 1973
Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke U

A very tight version with great Phil bombs and Jerry solo. This show slips under the radar. Don't miss it.

Fire On The Mountain
April 24, 1978
Horton Field House - Illinois State University

Jerry's Mutron magic and Bobby's noodling slide make this version unique. So much energy here.

Drums -> Space
March 15, 1990
Capital Centre

The jam out of Terrapin>Drums>And>Space is a lysergic MIDI soup of ecstasy. Too bad it had to go into Brent's cheesy lullaby after instead of a Wheel

Estimated Prophet
Aug. 20, 1983
Frost Amphitheatre

A raging '83 version, filled with crispy headiness. Bobby and Jerry steal faces during the end jam.

They Love Each Other
March 19, 1977
Winterland Arena

Flawless execution. Perfect Keith solo and Garcia performance. A definitive '77 version.

The Eleven
Feb. 28, 1969
Fillmore West

This is a top 3 performance, for sure, but this doesn't really surpass the lysergic face-melt that was 1-26-69 (Live/Dead). I prefer when Bobby takes more of the spotlight with his jazzy rhythm soloing during the opening and ending sections.
Foolish Heart
June 11, 1993
Buckeye Lake Music Center

Yeah, I never really 'got' "Foolish Heart" until I heard this performance. I wasn't a big fan of the Built to Last LP (sorry, Brent) and tended to skip over most of its live tunes with the exception of "Picasso Moon" and "Standing on the Moon." However, this version contains peak "Bird Song"-level jams. Not to be missed.
Cumberland Blues
Sept. 21, 1972
The Spectrum

Complete barn-burner. Jerry playing pure Bakersfield guitar.
Eyes Of The World
Dec. 31, 1976
Cow Palace

I'm listening to this show to celebrate NYE '17-'18. This Eyes is a great way to glide into the new year. It's really a spectacular performance. Might be top 5 for performance for me. Great tempo and very synergistic jams. Jerry just sounds so good on the Travis Bean.
Truckin'
Nov. 21, 1973
Denver Coliseum

The 'tension build' is flawlessly executed.
