High-energy playin' from the boys. Great Garcia solos and Phil bombs.

Electric cool-aid acid version from the beginning of the Summer of Love. You can actually get body waves from listening to this one. Love the organ.

They Love Each Other

Nassau Coliseum

A truly heady version from fall '79. Brent's key-clicking Rhodes piano and Jerry's beautiful solo make this my favorite version. TIGHT performance.

U.S. Blues (Wave That Flag)

Uni Dome, U of Northern Iowa

A bit rough around the edges but BALLS OUT energy the whole way through. An incredible performance with Jerry belting it out.

Crazy unique FOTM intro jam, unlike any other version I've heard. LOVE '78!

A version that's better than Barton, from a show that's better than Barton, IMO.
Unbroken Chain

What could have been if the Dead played this live in '74, or even '77? Sadly, the studio version is the only one worth listening to, but you can imagine the potential. Picture it coming out at the June Winterland '77 shows, or with Brent on lead vocals in Dec. '79. Jerry would flip on the Mutron during the intense bridge jam. Would have been epic. Too bad Phil blew his vocal cords from belting out The Eleven in the early days and decided to stop singing by '75 to let them heal.

Lots of highlights from this show, but Bertha and Man Smart, Woman Smarter really stand out. Easily the best Bertha since the 70s. Phil Bombs!

Fillmore East

Yep, this is a sleeper version. Sung and played near flawlessly. A priceless origin version.
