Sorry for your loss, Drowning. This song means so much to so many of us, and this is without a doubt the definitive version. Some good ones in 73 and 74 though, to be sure. But this has the outro. Can't win for tryin'. Enjoy friends.

Oh yeah. This is the ultimate performance of this song, from the Rockin' the Cradle release. It's not the romper-Iko that it would become, but it's so much more. Slow, funky, druggie (Jerry's head was scrambled on benzos or something for these shows due to lack of overseas-portable Persian; see Rock Scully's book). It just falls right into groove. Enjoy!

Yeah, there's no "keep us on the run" jam here, as per usual in 72-73, but the verses are just sung perfectly. And there are some UNREAL Phil bombs to make your hair stand on end. A great performance.

Jerry has some tuning issues at the start of the jam, and it never really takes off, but the verses are performed beautifully. The "Ladies and Gentlemen" version is much better though for the jam. Love the original key they played this song in.
