Let It Grow

Frost Amphitheatre

I would put this up against any other '88 performance. Rise and Fall Jam unleashed!

Let It Grow

Marin County Veterans Auditorium

First show of '84. Absolutely insane LIG, and one of the fastest. Phil bombs, Brent synths.

Outstanding performance. Like a mix of CSNY and Sammy Hagar with the Dead.

Morning Dew
Feb. 24, 1974
Winterland Arena

I think there are many, many strong versions of Dew throughout the years, but we can't really get much better than the '74 Dews, can we? The Year of the Dew? Epic Phil bass chords, and crystalline Garcia vocals. Wolf solos, etc. There may be one or two from the summer that compare with this, but taken in whole with the Dark Star before it, this makes for a superb Dew. The outro jamming is very cohesive and well thought out.
Black Peter
Jan. 2, 1970
Fillmore East (Late Show)

Can't believe this isn't higher. Jerry and Bobby do some really unique interplay here, and Jerry's solos are not standard.
Gloria
Nov. 3, 1984
Berkeley Community Theatre

Jerry's harmonies are great here.
Drums -> Space
March 24, 1990
Knickerbocker Arena

Surprised this one isn't higher. This was always a definitive version for me. "Drums" is out of this world. The birds get me every time.
He's Gone
Feb. 17, 1973
St. Paul Auditorium

Wow, this one is all the way down here, huh. 1 vote. A 14+ minute "He's Gone" as the second song in the first set, in Feb. '73 . . . Probably nothing to see here.
