What could have been if the Dead played this live in '74, or even '77? Sadly, the studio version is the only one worth listening to, but you can imagine the potential. Picture it coming out at the June Winterland '77 shows, or with Brent on lead vocals in Dec. '79. Jerry would flip on the Mutron during the intense bridge jam. Would have been epic. Too bad Phil blew his vocal cords from belting out The Eleven in the early days and decided to stop singing by '75 to let them heal.
