Big, boomy, mountain-scary drums from one of the best shows in '84. Hair-raising.

Very tight, jammed-out version from my favorite '84 show.

Bird Song

Great acoustic version! Too bad there aren't bitchin' Charlie Miller soundboards of these acoustic shows on the IA. The AUDs, even when taped by pros like Jim Wise, leave much to be desired. It's the, "I went to Radio City Music Hall and all I got was this crusty AUD" t-shirt. Hopefully Dead.net will do a boxed set some day.

Jerry's solo and Donna's harmonies make this the absolute best version. The whole song is played perfectly; not a single note is unintended or uninspired.

No other version of PITB comes close to the mastery of this performance from DP 31. This version turned me into a Deadhead one wild and magical night when it was just me, a set of headphones, and DP 31. Jerry doesn't mess with the typical wah-wah here. He plays a number of fast, clean, jazz phrases while Keith jams the hell out of his Rhodes electric piano. Probably the best Keith and Jerry driven jam I've ever heard.

Barton Hall - Cornell University

Not sure why March 20th has so many votes. Barton Hall is clearly superior. Jerry's slide puts me on a sailboat to the moon. Row Jimmy and Dancin' in the Streets were best played at this venue. An all-around amazing show.

Just listened to this for the first time. It is a rippin' version, better than many later ones. The segue into Touch is flawless. Bobby is singing with a certain dissonance that makes the song much more intriguing. Great performance, one of many in this incredible show. Frost shows were always special.
