Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
May 21, 1977
Lakeland Civic Center

solos are amazing, but I can't get with the slow tempo.
Franklin's Tower
Sept. 28, 1975
Lindley Meadows, Golden Gate Park

I can see a lot of skepticism here because of the attention this gets from being on 30 trips, but I think this a really nice, tight version that holds it own (and doesn't make '75 look shabby on 30 trips).

The Palladium

no pyrotechnics, but a great rolling version.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
March 22, 1990
Copps Coliseum

As someone who is using the ratings on this site as a way to guide my discovery of great shows to explore on the archive, I will say that this version has definitely opened my ears to the later years, which i have not delved into very much. So many ideas being explored, all riding a groove that just goes on and on and on (2 chords forever!).
Bird Song
Aug. 27, 1972
Old Renaissance Faire Grounds

simply amazing solos. Only downer is that the vocal harmonies are a bit off (as they are on a bunch of songs on this otherwise impeccable show)
