Comes out of a nice Shakedown opener. Lots of energy for a "Bobby Blues" song

Normally a background music type of song, but this one caught my attention!

Garcia's solo made my ear perk up and notice. This song is usually a background song, but this one caught my attention

Althea
June 7, 1980
Folsom Field

Smokin' run. Minglewood, Stranger, Bertha, Althea, Jam outta Circumstance, whole encore, all shine (triple song encore!?!?). Would existing SBDs warrant an official release of these two Boulder shows? The plague of early 80's shows, lack of SBDs. Spring '80 is not a time in GD history to miss out on, even if you are listening to AUD (Joani has some great recordings though!!)
Sing Me Back Home
May 26, 1972
Strand Lyceum

Jesus, what a combo. The hit you with a Dew, leave you in a daze for a couple minutes while they wrap up Other One, then finish you off with this Sing Me Back Home. TKO'ed.
Morning Dew
May 26, 1972
Strand Lyceum

What does this one have that 5/8 does not? Pig's organ. It gives a it a soul that is missing from 5/8. Yeah, yeah, yeah, vocal overdubs, but that's not the one I'm talking about. Beauty of this band is the real recordings survive and get to see the light of day.
Bird Song

The Spectrum

Yup, 5/2/81. Great version.
Looks Like Rain
May 6, 1978
Patrick Gymnasium - University of Vermont

I typically have shows on during the day when I'm putting around house with the kids. When something stops me and makes me notice, I give it a vote on here. LLR rarely if ever has done that, maybe outside of the '72 with Jerry on pedal steel (mostly for the novelty of it). This one, even with a B-B+ AUD recording grabbed my attention.
